Welcome! Make yourselves at home because I have a story to tell!
There once lived a girl whose teachers tried to count her out
But with hard work and perseverance she left room for no doubt
that one day she would grow to make a name for herself
by promoting literacy and generational wealth.
Not just monetary wealth that gains cents and dollars
But the kind that pushes sense and scholars.
Literacy is her motivator as she loves to read, write, and teach.
All children matter, but it's minorities that she wants to reach.
Showing them that they can do whatever they set their little minds to.
That opportunities are there as long as they knock on its door and walk through.
So, without further ado, let me introduce you.
I'm sure you already figured.
I am she. She is me. And I go by Jordan Rivers!
...
Books are life! So much can be learned, understood, changed, and created by reading and I feel that it is my duty to spread my love for it and the importance of literacy to the world. What better way to begin my journey than to learn? So, I pursued and received my Bachelors in Creative Writing and my Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in Screenwriting all while penning and publishing the first two books in The Village Series, "The Village and The Spider that Grew and Grew" and "The Village and The Cat Hair Catastrophe".
You can currently find me teaching creative writing and film production for Alive Youth Summer Camp, as a judge for the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge, or in a classroom at DePaul University pursuing my MFA in Creative Producing for Film & Television.
I would love for you to continue following me as a character in this book called Life as I uncover new worlds, new possibilities, and new visions along the journey.
You are welcome to keep coming back here to see new content. However, a better option is to subscribe to my newsletter! You will get updates on new posts and special content that is only available to my subscribers.
